Description
The defendant, Jermaine Woods, was convicted of murder in violation of General Statutes § 53a-54a (a) *fn1 and sentenced to fifty years imprisonment. He appealed his conviction directly to this court pursuant to General Statutes § 51-199 (b). *fn2 On appeal, the defendant raises two claims. First, he claims that the trial court improperly permitted the prosecutor to comment, during closing arguments, on the defendant's failure to call his prior attorney to testify. Second, he claims that the trial court's instructions on self-defense inadequately advised the jury that the defendant's subjective belief that he was in imminent danger, even if mistaken, could justify his conduct.
